Terms of Service: When you purchase book cover designs and/or additional add-on services from Charm Multimedia, you are agreeing to the terms of service laid out on this page. They are there to help clarify and protect both our rights and interests, and form a legal agreement between you and Charm Multimedia.

With the purchase of a pre-made or custom book cover, you receive an exclusive license to use the cover art for your ebook and/or your print book according to your order. The same cover design will not be sold again to another client as a book cover, except in rare cases where the agreement is terminated (e.g. due to a breach of these terms, or the client chooses to terminate the agreement).

The copyright of the cover, its underlying art and design in their entirety remain with Charm Multimedia and its artist(s). As such, Charm Multimedia retains the right to license the underlying artwork for other purposes such as calendars, anthologies etc. Charm Multimedia retains the right to display the book cover designs and artwork (final or otherwise) on their web-sites and any social media accounts to showcase their portfolio. Artwork may be shared prior to sale on other design web-sites for showcasing work and improving skills.

Covers and services ordered are licensed only to the client and cannot be resold or transferred. All orders and payments are non-refundable. (Exceptions may be made for the last two statements at the sole discretion of Charm Multimedia, in cases of extenuating circumstances.) Covers and services ordered from us may not be modified by anyone other than us unless written permission is obtained from Charm Multimedia in advance.

Design mockups and non-final designs are meant to communicate ideas between us and you, our client. You may not share these non-final versions (which are used to refine concepts and finalize the cover design) online in any public space (e.g. web-sites and social media).

Charm Multimedia retains the right to attribution for all work and services rendered by us. You agree to credit Charm Multimedia when asked about the creator of the work and agree to include a line of attribution on the copyright page at the beginning of your book that uses one of our covers as follows: “Cover Design © Karuna at Charm Multimedia | www.charmmultimedia.com”. You also agree to include a line of attribution on the back of the print cover as follows: "Cover Design by Charm Multimedia".

Clients will be sent an invoice upon ordering covers and services. Covers and services can be paid for using Paypal’s payment options. Work on finalizing premade covers, and work on custom covers will commence upon payment of the invoice amount. Payments are non-refundable. Custom covers require a non-refundable payment of around 50% of the order before work begins, the rest to be paid before the approved design is finalized.

Charm Multimedia allows for minor revisions (for premade covers and partial custom covers) and one or two rounds of minor changes in design direction (for full custom covers) at the designer’s discretion. Additional fees will apply for further changes.

Project completion varies with the complexity of the services. Premade covers that only require the addition of title and author information can be sent to the client in a few business days. Where minor revisions are needed, the work will be done according to the designer’s schedule. Custom covers and services such as book trailers will take additional time and Charm Multimedia will communicate approximate turnaround times to the client according the schedules of the designer/artist.

Pre-made Cover

With a pre-made cover order, the client will receive the following deliverables by email:

An ebook cover will be sent to you as a high quality jpg file, RGB, 300 dpi, with a resolution of 1800 x 2700, sized 6 x 9 inches. You'll also receive a free 3D mockup of the ebook for promotional purposes as a high quality jpg file.

Partial or Full Custom Cover

With a partial or full custom cover order, the client will receive the following deliverables:

An ebook cover will be sent to you as a high quality jpg file, RGB, 300 dpi, with a resolution of 1800 x 2700, sized 6 x 9 inches. You'll also receive a free 3D mockup of the ebook for promotional purposes as a high quality jpg file.

Print Cover

With a print cover order, a paperback print cover will be sent to you as a high quality jpg file, CMYK, 300 dpi, with a resolution of 2775 by around 4000, taking into account your number of pages, trim and bleed requirements for printing. You'll also receive a free 3D mockup that includes both the ebook and print versions, as a high quality jpg file.

Audio book cover

With an audio book cover order, an audio ebook cover will be sent to you as a high quality jpg, RGB, 300 dpi, with a resolution of 2400 by 2400.

Client responsibilities include making payments in time, providing accurate cover information (e.g. title and author information), returning questionnaire responses after verifying they are accurate (e.g. for custom cover orders), checking preliminary designs carefully for approval, and responding to any communications from Charm Multimedia in a timely fashion for covers to be finalized. Charm Multimedia cannot be held responsible in any delays in cover completion due to delayed or incorrect information provided by the client. Charm Multimedia cannot be held liable for any errors in the final deliverables, once the client has approved of the final design.

Charm Multimedia will keep interactions with clients professional and courteous. Clients are also responsible for keeping their interaction with Charm Multimedia professional and courteous. Charm Multimedia reserves the right to cancel any projects where client interactions create negative working conditions due to for example rude language and hostility.

Charm Multimedia will provide its services in a professional manner and affirm that the deliverables (covers and services) are the original work of its artist(s) using their own artistic skills, licensed assets and various tools. The work does not infringe upon any third party’s rights to Charm Multimedia’s best knowledge. Charm Multimedia cannot be liable for any damages if a third party recreates the design ideas or content in the deliverables using similar assets.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Charm Multimedia will not be liable to the client or anyone else for any special, incidental, direct, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever from the client’s use of services by Charm Multimedia. At no time will Charm Multimedia and its artist(s) be held financially or legally responsible for any problems or expenses incurred by the client as a result of services provided by Charm Multimedia.
