1 - What do I get when I order a cover?

When you order a cover from Charm Multimedia, you receive a license for an ebook cover to be used with the published ebook and for ebook promotion. Due to the resources I use in making the cover, there are no limits on the number of  copies sold for ebooks or print books.

Each book cover is sold only once and will be removed from sale after your purchase. The cover will have a resolution of 1800 x 2700 pixels, sized 6 x 9 inches and will be sent by email in jpg format, after I update the cover with your details. Please let me know if you need a slightly different size or resolution at the time of placing your order.

You also receive a free 3D ebook mockup for promotional purposes like the one on the right. Other Add-on Services, such as print covers and book trailers, are also available. The Add-on Services page lists what you get with each add-on. Please read the full terms and conditions in the Terms section, so you are aware of all the details. When you order a cover from Charm Multimedia, you're agreeing to these terms (which include licensing terms and design credit requirements).

2 - How does the order process work for pre-made covers?

If you find a Pre-made Cover that's a good fit for your book and genre, please make a note of the cover ID (e.g. CM-012). You can then head on to the Order page. After solving the picture password, you'll fill out your name and email address, check the Pre-made Cover option and jot down that cover ID (e.g. CM-012) that you are interested in . You can also check any other add-on services you'd like (such as a print cover). In the message section, ask any questions you have, and give me some information on your book's genre / sub-genre, title, author name and any other text details that would appear on the cover.  If I need any more information, I'll request those details by email.

After I receive your message, I'll send you an invoice for the order with a payment link. When choosing more than two services together, I may provide a bundle discount. Payments are made through Paypal (with a paypal account, or without a paypal account for credit and debit card payments).

After I receive the payment, I'll update the book cover with your details and you can review the cover for any minor changes to font style and color where I can accommodate those. Any additional or major changes will carry an additional fee. If you don't hear from me within 3 business days, please check your spam box.

Once you're happy with the cover, I'll send you the final ebook cover and free 3D ebook mockup by email. (The cover will be in jpg format and have a resolution of 1800 x 2700 pixels, sized 6 x 9 inches. The 3D ebook mockup will also be in jpg format.) If you order the add-on print cover, you'll receive the ebook cover, print cover and a 3D ebook and print mockup. See Add-on Services for what you get with each of the add-ons.

Please read the full terms and conditions in the Terms section, so you are aware of all the terms and conditions of a cover purchase. When you order a cover from Charm Multimedia, you're agreeing to these terms (which include licensing terms and design credit requirements).

3 - How does the order process work for custom covers?

There are two options for custom covers:

1) If you like one of the existing covers I have on my Pre-Made Covers page, but would like a more customized character and/or setting, you can opt for a Partial Custom cover. The Custom Book Covers page shows the steps to follow to order a partial custom cover. Essentially, you let me know which existing cover you like in your message on the Order form, and I'll send out a questionnaire to get character and/or setting details from you. I'll use those details to craft a customized cover in that chosen style.

2) If you're interested in a full custom cover to more closely match your (sub)genre and characterization, a custom cover is a great option. The Custom Book Covers page shows the steps to follow to order a full custom cover. You choose the custom cover option on the Order form (and any other add-on services you'd like) and give me some initial information on the genre and story. I'll then send you a questionnaire to get more details about your book and about any of your favorite covers in the genre. I'll use those details to craft a custom cover and get your input on any minor changes in the direction of the cover design.

For both options, I'll be sending out an invoice with a payment link for 50% of the cover cost before starting on the work. When choosing more than two services together, I may provide a bundle discount. Payments are made through Paypal (with a paypal account, or without a paypal account for credit and debit card payments).

After you're happy with the cover, I'll send out a second invoice with a payment link for the remaining cost of the order, before finalizing your cover and sending the final ebook cover and free 3D ebook mockup by email. (The ebook cover will be in jpg format and have a resolution of 1800 x 2700 pixels, sized 6 x 9 inches.

4 - How do you make your covers?

There are several main approaches cover designers traditionally take in making their covers, the most common being the use of stock photos. Using stock photos is a simpler solution in many cases, but does not allow the flexibility or variety that certain genres like fantasy and historical romance for example might benefit from. On the other side, there's illustration (digital or traditional) which relies on more extensive artist skills and which is more time consuming, and is therefore a far more expensive option. Illustration however allows a great level of customization.

I am an illustrator and am comfortable using stock photos as well. But to have greater flexibility and variety, I use 3D assets along with free stock photos, digital painting and digital processing to create my covers. I use the 3D assets for creating characters and settings that afford a lot of customization. This allows me to create covers for a wide variety of genres, and helps me match the cover more closely to the genre, story and characters in the case of custom covers. This option also allows me to create a more time and cost-effective option for authors than if I were to illustrate the entire cover.

Since there are no commercial stock photos used, there are no print limits on the covers. I am also able to sell merchandising add-ons for a small additional fee. I have an extensive library of 3D assets and have licenses for all the 3D assets I use in my work. I also use a combination of free and licensed fonts, effects and textures in my covers.

I do not use any AI generated material in my covers or artwork.
